The facility is now known as the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Once again the fantastic establishment is to receive a face-lift. Racegoers can look forward to the following exciting additions: slot machines, more restaurants, a large food court, bars, a nightclub, a children's center, a retail zone, more parking and even better employee service areas. Mohegan Sun is simply awaiting approval to open the first casino in Pennsylvania, further enhancing the experience of racing aficionados.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs raceway offers a great schedule of 143 live racing days from April through to November. The race track itself is a 5/8 mile dirt track with a stone aggregate base and red rock screenings as a top layer. Harness racing events take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays to Sundays with a post time of 2:30 pm. Admission and parking are currently free of charge. The stables are able to handle 700 standardbred horses. Simulcast viewing and wagering takes place all through the week which means the thrill of harness racing doesn't slow down at Pocono Downs race track. A guest representative in the lobby is available to assist patrons with racing information, tips for wagering and so forth. Meals can be enjoyed at Winners Circle Eatery and Pacer's Clubhouse. For those who cannot reach the races on a particular day, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs offers the Dial-a-bet service. Placing your bet couldn't be easier.
